PETRARCA – European Academy for Landscape Culture is a non-profit organisation based in Witzenhausen/Germany. The NGO focuses on sustainable development of European cultural landscapes. A special focus lies on organic and social farming and landuse. Several projects and activities have been carried out related to social farming, training and education. PETRARCA has been engaged in networking in social farming across Europe (COST action Green Care in Agriculture, CoP Farming for Health, Research project SoFar) and on national level (Founding of the Deutsche Arbeitsgemeinschaft Soziale Landwirtschaft DASoL, German umbrella organisation for social farming, www.soziale-landwirtschaft.de). Since the project “Social farming on organic farms in Germany” more than 7.000 farms, gardening initiatives and individuals belong to the data bank and receive a regular newsletter.
