Farm Characteristics & Media
I really focus on improving my soil with every decision. I reduce waste as best as possible, and will never go down the route of selling only salads to make more money, I will always aim to feed my locality with a wide range of vegetables.
No-till bed systems with permanent beds, Intensive crop rotation and succession planning, Biological pest and disease management (beneficial insects, netting, compost teas), Regular compost and vermicompost applications to maintain soil biology, Season extension with low tunnels or caterpillar tunnels, Direct marketing: CSA, farm stand, restaurant partnerships, Use of simple hand tools for precision work (Broadfork, Tilther, Paperpot)
